Campidano-style veranda, Santa Margherita di Pula
While building a villa in Santa Margherita di Pula we created a veranda inspired by traditional Campidano architecture, designed to sit naturally alongside the house and the landscape around it.
It is not simply a covered space: it is a piece of Sardinian architecture reinterpreted for the way we live today, built with reclaimed materials, traditional shapes and hand craftsmanship that calls for real experience with natural materials.
The work
Reclaimed Sardinian bricks
The structure is built from reclaimed Sardinian bricks, chosen for their texture and for the authentic character they give the veranda.
Pillars and arches
The pillars and arches follow the shapes typical of Campidano architecture, with care for proportions, geometry and hand-laid work, tying the indoor spaces to the outdoor ones.
Traditional roof
Reclaimed juniper trunks as the load-bearing structure, reeds laid and tied in the Sardinian tradition, and reclaimed Sardinian tiles to complete the roof.
The result
A warm, welcoming outdoor space that speaks to both the villa and the landscape of Santa Margherita, while keeping the character of Campidano architecture clearly recognisable.
