Every site has a story to tell.

The work involved restoring a typical Campidano farmhouse, with the aim of preserving its architectural identity and traditional building character, while adding technical solutions designed to improve performance and durability.

The existing roofs were taken down and rebuilt following local building tradition, with new roofs in juniper timber, reeds and reclaimed tiles: materials that give the rooms back the authentic character of rural Sardinian architecture.

To deal with rising damp, the existing floors were removed and the ground beneath dug out to create a ventilated cavity, completed with new insulation layers and screeds. The rooms were then laid with handmade Sardinian terracotta.

The internal and external stone walls, built in opus incertum, were brought back into view by removing the render. The stones were cleaned and the joints pointed with air lime mortar, with no cement, to respect the nature of historic masonry.

Under a public contract, Edilservizi refurbished the sports surface of the gym at the Primo Levi school, laying a new vinyl floor made specifically for sports facilities, designed to be hard-wearing, comfortable and suitable for physical activity.

The work was completed with the setting out and marking of the courts, with regulation lines for basketball, volleyball and handball: precision work that makes the gym usable for several sports.

The job called for careful preparation of the surfaces, accurate laying of the vinyl covering and precise marking out, for an even result, finished in detail and in line with the specifications of a public contract.

The project involved rebuilding the roof in full: removal of the previous asbestos cement covering under the procedures required by law, new chestnut boarding treated with protective impregnant, thermal and acoustic insulation panels, a waterproof membrane and a final covering of traditional curved tiles.

The external walls were repaired by removing the decayed cement render and applying new render in natural hydraulic lime (NHL). Particular care went into repairing the tuff masonry, a defining feature of the building, finished with a breathable mineral siloxane paint.

The architectural features of the main front were also cleaned, among them the rose window, the entrance door, the bell and the cross on the gable, together with the supply of a new chestnut door and a wrought iron railing.
